Offshore oil exploration is currently booming in Greenland. This raises hopes of a future self-sustained economy as well as increased employment. Greenlandic service companies and thereby also Greenlandic workers are already now seeing increased opportunities to participate in exploration activities as well as in a future development and production phase.
The main focus of this conference is the societal transition that Greenland is about to go through. The focus will primarily be on education, business structure and infrastructural and logistic readiness as well as health, safety and environmental challenges.
The conference is aimed at Greenlandic decision makers and the international offshore industry. Compared to other conferences and seminars in Greenland focus will be more on the general societal changes and structures than on direct business to business contact.
The Conference will take place in Sisimiut at Sanaartornermik Ilinniarfik, which is the national trade school for technical educations in Greenland. Sanaartornermik Ilinniarfik is also home to The Greenland School of Minerals and Petroleum and the Arctic Technology Centre.
